Your motherboard and CPU has to support dual channel so you'd have to see if your laptop would even support it. If it does then yeah those two pair would work in dual channel. The benefits of DC are anywhere from 5%-20% gain in performance, some argue that it's really not that much at all.

You have to find out which slots achieve DC by reading your motherboard manual.

It just means the CPU can access both sticks at the same time instead of waiting for one to get used and then starting on the other.
