Default RAID 0 with non identical drives?

Hey guys... So I have been thinking of doing a RAID 0 array. I have a 500gb and a 320gb, and they are identical except their storage capacity.

Would I be able to RAID them or no?

You can set those 2 drives up at an extended drive. However keep in mind if one drive goes, you do loose the lot.

Size isn't really a concern, as I don't even use half of my 500gb alone. I just care about speed

Yup, you will get double the smaller size. And as mentioned, no fault tolerance.

Yeah, I know. I have another 160gb that I'll put all my really important files on in case something fails.

Another little question... does having the drives in a raid array somehow make them more likely to fail?
