| Please review my system I just built this new system using Win Vista & Asus 8800GTS 320MB. What do you think of the performance? I think my computer is a bit slow. What can I do to make it faster? I don't know how to overclock. Is there any software for overclocking?
I have another question to ask. I bought 2GB Corsair DDR2 Twin2x2048-6400 800mhz memory. Why it only shows 400mhz?
How to overclock videocard? Any software?
TIA

| Re: Please review my system If you just built it and its running slow i wouldnt be looking for ways to improve it id be trying to work out why its not fast in the first place, should be fast judging by the spec |

| Re: Please review my system you may have been expecting it to be super fast and it wasn't as fast as you though t so you automatically think its slow, don't worry i thought the same when i built my first system
oh and about your memory that is the correct speed, my 400mhz ram shows as 200mhz, i dont know why but thats correct, ask some-one like B1gapl or Nagasama

| Re: Please review my system It's because you're using Vista. It's slower than XP is.
That's why I still use XP, as well as the fact that Vista really doesn't offer anything that XP doesn't
Except for DirectX 10. But there are no DirectX 10 games, and there are people working on getting DirectX 10 for XP

| Re: Please review my system Your ram is showing as 400mhz because it is DDR ( Double Data Rate) which means it performs 2 processes per cycle . So 400mhz becomes 800mhz effective.

| Re: Please review my system VISTA IS BAD.
Im running dual boot.
I liked vista at first...used it for about 3 weeks.
Once i went back to xp...i dont think ill ever goto vista for a while.
Everything runs faster, games perform way better.
Vista isa knockoff out of mac.
Its just fancier, and easy access to some files, but for all the speed it takes...its not worth it.
Once a couple dx10 games come out, i might go back, unless dx 10 works for xp. |
