You can use many programs to moniter Tempartures. Which include but are not limited to.
Motherboard Moniter, speedfan, everest home/ultimate.
There are several programs that you will want to test for stability. Which include but are not limited to: Prime 95, super PI, OCCT, Orthos.

I suggest you read through the Overclockers Guide and Tempartures Guides.

Speed fan is incorrect. Use coretemp and good luck overclocking with that ram. You will be lucky to get to 2.5 GHz on the processor

I just got my E6300 and new mobo and new video yada yada, (AMAZINGLY seamless swap, not even a hickup lol. My sound doesn't crackle anymore even)

Anyway... My C2D is an SL9TA / Q705A024

Is there any place I can "look" up the OCabilty of it?
