I'm wondering if it would be recommended to OC my CPU with the stock heatsink. And if I did, would the difference be noticeable?

Probably a little, not too much though. If you really want to OC I would invest in an aftermarket cooler.

And yes, you should notice a difference.

I would love it if somebody could explain how to overclock this processor on an intel motherboard. As i'm sure the bios are locked, can someone explain step by step how one would overclock this cpu? Right now i'm looking into software.

You should be able to hit 3.6GHz with decent temps on stock cooling.

Alright..Would the 600 MHz make a worth while difference for the possibility of overheating? Would OC'ing less be worth while? Would I be able to surpass 4.0 GHz with aftermarket cooling?

Also, is my CPU slowing me down any for gaming at the moment?

You could probably pass 4GHz with aftermarket cooling. You will notice an increase in performance from 3-3.6 but less from 3.6-4.0.

And no, your CPU isn't slowing you down.
