I just purchased a new system, an AMD 2500+ and installed it with the standard amd heatsink and fan, plus a case fan. The CPU units average temp on load is around 38C. I was wondering, what is a safe OC range for me?
Someone explaine it to me. I remember years ago we would OC our system's because they where **** slow. OC'ing that Celeron or K62 got us a lot more headroom. But with CPU's being so **** fast, why risk burning it out for such little payoff?
even more then that. You can OC a 1700+ to almost 3200+ speeds with good cooling. A 2500+ can easily reach over 2.2Ghz.
I personally see no logical reason to buy anything above a 2500+ barton since it will easily match a 3200+
