Default mix 'n' match ram?

im planning on upgrading to 4GB ram on my pc, and i found some OCZ 800Mhz Sli Ready ram for £30 on cclonline

Buy 2GB OCZ SLI Ready Edition Dual Channel Kit*OCZ2N800SR2GK from CCL - Online Retailer of the Year 2007 & 2006 for laptops, desktops and computer hardware

will this be able to run in dual channel mode with my crucual ballistix ram? i know my crucial is rated at PC2-8500, but my mobo doesnt reconise the 1066Mhz SPD, so im stuck at 800Mhz, which is the same as the OCZ i am looking at. If i get that ram, will i still be able to run it in dual channel?

if not, what kind of performance drop will i be looking at due to lack of dual channel?

You should still be able to run dual channel. Just make sure that both of them are set at the same speed in the BIOS and then that Dual Channel is enabled. It shouldn't be any problem.

Yes, you will. Dual channel applied to same ram on same color slots.
