Default Memory/Core Speed of Graphics Card

Hey all...haven't been here in a while.

Anyways, I was thinking of Overclocking my graphics card. And so when you overclock your graphics card, you have to options. Memory and Core.

I think (someone verify this for me) that core refers to how fast the GPU is and the memory refers to how fast the memory...responds?

Does the core speed and the memory speed need to match with anything, like RAM or CPU?

My graphics card is a Visiontek Radeon 9250, 128 mb. I think I'm going to use ATI tool to overclock it (on the side, is ATI tool the best program to use?)

ATI tool is a good overclocking tool. yes core is the gpu frequency and memory is the memory frequency. no they do not need to match.

bump^^^ also when your overclocking you really care about the core speed. The memory is secondary, so just try to max the core up as far as you can and then worry about the memory speed.
