Default Max Voltage?

My AM2 X2 4000+ is at 50 degrees celcius load at 1.62v according to cpu-z and everest ultimate edition. Is this too much?

can you tell the revision? as there are 3 X2 4000+ CPU's made by amd, 2 of them were on 65W and 1 on 89W thermal design.

write the revision and L2 cache. however, in both cases, no matter what revisin you have, 55 is safe, though HIGH, voltage should be b/w 1.20 - 1.35 (depending on the CPU revision)

Yea that's a little high, but you temps are still low, so it's really just what you are comfortable with.

I don't even like running mine @ 1.53v. What clock are you running at that you need that much voltage?

look in the bios, not everest and cpu-z... I noticed they always read voltages a little high.

This is true, when it comes to voltages you can actually change and set yourself, one should only care what they set in the CMOS Setup, and what the CMOS reading's are outputing.

IN windows software is terrible for voltage reading's.

Everest and CPU-Z always read mine about .4-.6v below what I set it to.
