Default MAX OC on a 4870 with stock fan

How much can I overclock it (stable and with no heat issues)

I dont want anything crazy, just nice useful Overclocking. (for example on my Q6600 it would be 2.9)

Also, I can crank up the fan speed, if you guys teach me how.

So if I am going to overclock then I should do Whatever the factory overclocked version is?

And do factory overclock, do they crack up the fan?

How will I know when to stop? Don't want to burn it, nor I want to do anything crazy.

you cant break a card by pushing the mhz up. it will just be unstable. just keep clocking til it's no longer stable then back off a bit til it is.

You will know it is unstable by seeing artifacts. These are little random things that will show up when you are playing games. Strange no game related anomalies are a sign of a card pushed too far. Also some times it may crash the computer under load.

ATI Tool has an artifact scanner, you run that and if you get any errors, youve gone too far.
