Any sort of general auto store should have this stuff, even some hardware stores will have the fine grit as well for metal. up to 2000 is common instore stuff. With 2000 grit i got a foggy mirror finish, didn't actually take that long...as for the cpu, i found it easier to do the cpu than the heatsink.

ya cpu is easier to do, i got a tuniq tower it got tiring **** thing weighs a ton

For me it wasnt so much the weight as keeping the heatsink level while sanding and not rounding the edges by being too enthusiastic with the lapp
