got a new one for you guys

the number on it is L811B012

the volts set in the bios where 1.28750, will get a core temp vid when i get to that pc again (my grans pc so it will be a few days to a week or so)

Well, I have a terrible q6600 that you can add to your list:

Q6600 g0 SLACR
FPO/Batch: L815B415
VID: 1.325
This cpu won't stay stable at 3.00 (yes, you read that right) at less than 1.39Vcore.

I want to buy a new one and send this one to my brother who doesn't overclock, but I'm not sure how long I should wait before I buy so I don't get another POS one.

Your best bet is to buy a used proven overclocker. Unless you have a store near you that has a bunch in stock where you can pull the one you'd like
