Lightbulb intel e8500 temp concern

iwas just wondering what temperature an intel core 2 duo e8500 processor should be during general use. i am currently using an oc vendetaa hsf and fan and its built into an antec 900 2 case. i am getting a reading of a bout 33 degrees celsius during general use and i am curious if that is a normal temperature. i am just a bit wrried that the thermal grease was a bit low quality. any suggestions would be appreciated

33C is very acceptable for idle speeds.
What are your ambient temps?

run prime and see what your temps get to under load.

I have an E8400, and I run ~33C idle, and ~43C load using AC Freezer 7 Pro and CM 690 case w/ 3x120mm fans. If that helps you any ;]. Test your load temp with prime small ffts like Hef suggested and see if it gets too hot.

Load temps are all the matter, idles are meaningless.
