Higher RAM frequency?

Hey guys. I'm overclocking my system, and I have a pair of dual channel DDR400 512mb sticks in my computer. Currently the frequency of them is at about 240. My question is, does a higher frequency lower the lifetime of the sticks? Or is it just the amount of volts going to them that does. Thanks.

Overclocking in general does shorten the lifetime of the hardware , but who cares there like 1 millions hours of operation before they die out on you.

As Preacher said, overclocking does reduce the life span of components, but not by enough, to worry about.

In this case, RAM running at a higher frequency, doesn't really reduce the lifetime....but setting the voltage higher than default, will.

Heat is the enemy of computer parts. The higher your voltage is, the more heat you're going to pump out. Like what's been said, overclocking will shorten the lifespan of your parts, but the cooler you're able to get those parts, the longer they're likely to last.

Your 500 watt power supply is essentially a 500 watt heater.
