Default Help with ocing q6600

Well i just got my zalman9500 and i was wondering how to overclock my q6600 g0 to 3.0 ghz

CPU: Q6600 g0 Stock trying to OC to 3.0ghz stable
Video Card: Visiontek 4870
Ram: G.Skill 2x2GB Kit PC6400 800mhz
HDD: Segate Barracuda 500GB
PSU: PC Power&Cooling 610Watt
Case: CM 690 Case
Monitor: Asus 22in 2MS
Heatsink:Tuniq Tower Heatsink
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

You need to get into the BIOS when you boot-up. Refer to the manual for the key to press. The manual should also tell you how to overclock. You need to change something like FSB to a higher number.

I know to change the fsb i just need to know by how much.

Clock it to 3 Ghz on stock voltages. It should be able to do this.
If not already done, make RAM speed double the FSB.
Loosen RAM timmings to 5-5-5-15.

You misunderstand. Your setting a Multiplier for the RAM in relation to the FSB. It is highly reccomended that you set the multiplier to where the RAM speed is double the FSB you set. (Not the final FSB Speed)

For example. Lets you set a 3 GHz clock
334X9 is what you set for the CPU speed.
Therefore the RAM speed will be 334X2.

You would understand if you read that guide I posted.

It will underclock it, and it won't restrict your CPU overclock.
