I don't know much about computers so I need help with my processor. I have a Compaq Pressario R3000 with:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
512 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go 64M

My problem is that my processor is only running at 797 MHz. I have worked with the plugged in power settings, to make it run faster, and I have tried working with the appearance of my computer, to give it the best performance, but I can't seem to get my processor higher than 797 MHz. What do I need to do, to get it to run at its true speed, 2GHz??

I appreciate the help.

AMD includes a feature called Cool n' Quiet. The CPU only runs at 2GHz when it's needed to run cooler and save power.
