Default Graphics card benchmark fluctuations

Hello ladies. I'm running the 'Video card stability test, 3 minute benchmark' - the one with the spinning globe, and i consistently get about 2700 with the cpu/card configuration im using. I just ran it and get 2730, then restarted the computer and got 2400. Why? It's doing this more and more often, and i cant seem to suss it out! I'm letting all the programs load etc so its not initial windows startup strain thats doing it. Any ideas?

be sure all internet windows etc are closed. i did a test once and found out that so much as a few icons on your desktop will make difference than a desktop FULL of icons. internet windows completely butcher your score there. make sure its in the EXACT same testing conditions each time. mbm5's dashboard kills the score a lot as well.
