| True Techie | Well, I just ordered my new 7900 GS card from Newegg about a week ago, and it kicks ***. I ordered it, because my old 7300 LE TC couldn't play battlefield 2 without crashing constantly, or locking up my PC. Well, I can play without crashing, but man I get the most RANDOM lag EVER! I don't know what it is, but Everything gets really slow and skippy for like 2 or 3 seconds, and then goes back to normal, and it happens a LOT. I don't know what's wrong, I thought this new graphics card would solve all my lag problems, but I guess not. My ping is around 40, so I don't think it's my actual internet. I will post specs.. Specs are an attachment (Text document). Last edited by Ephexx793; 10-31-2007 at 06:44 PM. |

| True Techie | erm, I can't seem to come around to the fact that my random skipping in games is due to my 1g of RAM. I have never heard of that happening, gaming lag because of RAM, unless it's drastic differences, but I mean I have 1g.. I could buy 1g, but I doubt that would do much to help me.. any help? |

| The RAM would probably help. Other than that your upload speed is kind of low. I'd recommend at least 500kb/s up for smooth mutliplayer play. Other than that maybe the HDD is doing something weird or dying. Can't really fathom anything else.

| True Techie | Well, I guess I could give a shot at playing with bots for a bit, and see if I still get that lag.. If I do, then it's my system, otherwise.. it's my internet.. I AM running wireless, but at the time playing I had a "Very Good (3/4)" signal, one away from "Excellent" strength.. I know wireless isn't the best for gaming, and I have a pos wireless adapter.. Please keep the suggestions coming. thanks for the help so far. |
