Hey Burned-ATI or anyone, I found out that I can't unlock the 16 pipes on my card

Anyway....How muck should I OC it with 12 pipes?

what is the point of flashing it to the "XT" or "PE"? Can't you just turn up the MHz with ATI tool?

Ya I'm a noob but I gatta learn some how

x850pro/ 500mhz/500mhz,1000mhz) 12 pipes

x850xt/520mhz/540mhz,1080mhz) 16 pipes

x850xt pe/540mhz/590mhz,1180mhz) 16 pipes

your video card clearly has 16 pipes and 4 are factory locked, thats the point in flashing so you can unlock them. well im already unlocked and at x850xt, so i want to flash to x850xt pe so im unlocked and at 540mhz core 590 mhz memory default

your video card get 6000 texiles per second, mine gets 8350 per second, see that gap? 8340 is much faster the 6000

the highest i ever got before mine was unlocked, was 5800 in 3dmark05 no i can reach 6520, thats a big difference. and before you flash your video card you must make sure it will run at 520mhz core and 1080mhz memory itleast. i would suggest running ati tool on the 3dview so your video card heats up to the max, and then scan for artifacts. and also if you flash to x850xt pe you want some different cooling, mine is cooled with a cpu heatsink lol and a 80mm fan. so i run 49c under like a 2hour load. and about 35c ambiet

Mine

Xaoc's From link

So I gotta deal with 12 pipes...... I ordered a Arctic cooling silencer 5 Right know I have a 80mm fan feeding the stock heatsink/fan with cool air, It runs at 64c to 68c gaming. I have it set with ATI Tool to core 520MHz mem 540MHz because I saw a X850pro advertised with those MHz

O.K.... Here's my Questions

What is the max temp of my X850pro? 70c?

Can I run my card at core-520MHz mem-1000MHz safely as long as there's no artifacts at "max temp" and the Temp is below 70c?

(You said) "i want to flash to x850xt pe so im unlocked and at 540mhz core 590 mhz memory default"
Can't you just use ATI Tool to do that?

Thanks for your help

Good memory Apokalipse

I was going to build a new computer with the 7800gt/gtx. I decided I wanted to wait until I can learn more about all the different computer parts, because I didn't want to regret buying something just because I didn't know about its better counterpart.

So, Ya I'm going to buy the 7800gt/gtx, I just bought the X850pro(agp) to get me by until I build my Super Gaming Computer
