the cracks between the blocks yes. thats a great idea. i hope with the paint it kind of helps the cracks, but not enough so you dont see atleast edges, so you get the 8bit feel

A belt sander would be sweet.
But, I like the slightly different sizes and the effect it will create to give it the 8 bit kind of crappy look.
