Default CPU Temp

I have an Athlon 64 3200+ (sorry, don't know whether it's clawhammer or newcastle...prob newcastle) and it usually runs at around 40 C. I know the max is 70, but is it bad if it's at 40 all the time? Thanks.

So I guess 40's pretty average. I'm glad, since my PC's squeezed between my desk and the wall, and I have a case fan on the side. I was worried about ventilation.

Hey, how can I find out whether I'm using a clawhammer or newcastle?

Yeah as everyone has said 40c is absolutely fine for a Venice.
Mine sits at 32c idle, but then i planned ahead cooling wise as overclocking my Venice was always a must.
plus plan to go further when i get some decent RAM.

Static_11 > 55c is is about right for your Barton. My previous XP3000 idled at 58-60c for over 18 months that i used it with no problems.
