| i am new to mega hard core cooling and weighing up between super cool and super quiet but i have stumbled a different approach. no this is not buying expensive water cooling or have a gazillion slow fans (also expensive if u buy reliable ball bearing ones) but this: on my computeri have athlon xp with a 20 buck (aussie dollar) coolermaster cpu cooler with a large fan running at 2200rpm. also i bought a thermaltake silent purepower supply (with dual fans) and set up the second fan as its case fan. my temps are as follows: cpu temp = between 26 and 31 mobo temp = 21- 26 cpu fan = 2200rpm power supply fan = 1400rpm if u look there and my case being a generic steel one (10 bucks) its pretty good temperatures, please tell me if im wrong in any way or if i am totally talking nonsense but it worked for me wayne

| well when i bought the coolermaster, i just wanted my cpu 5 - 8 degrees cooler and didnt care about noise. I cound go and buy a 8cm to 12cm fan converter and buy a 12cm ball bearing fan and replace the coolermasters one and run it at 1500 rpm
