(he has a 7300gs...not an 8800gts).

oh crap. missed that, lol, was just skimming thru it the first time. you have almost the same card as me, im guessing yours has a fan. now here comes the easy part. open the side panel of your pc when its ON and try to see the fan on the card. if its spinning, then the card is shot. if its not, the fan is shot. the nvidia 7 series has a cool little feature: when the core hits 130C it automatically powers down to prevent damage to the core, so whats happening is your cooking the processor and its powering down.

if the fan is spinning, clean the heat sink.

if there is no fan, get a new heatsink/fan

if there is no heatsink, you got ripped off man
