can someone tell me if THIS Mobo is compatable with a AMD XP 2600+ (BARTON CORE) 333MHZ FSB. Thanks

Yes, that Mobo will accept the 2600+.

Is there a reason for going with the 2600 instead of the 2500? I think the 2500 is cheaper.

Either way, i would recommend that you get the retail boxed version. It costs a few more dollars but you get a three year warranty instead of a one year like the OEM versions.
