Default chipset cooling

if i touch the heatsink of my motherboard chipset for more than a few seconds it actually hurts my fingers coz its that hot. is that a bad thing or a terrible thing?

You need to get more fire resist gear. =P
Download Everest Home and tell us what the temperature is. More than likely you are fine but learning new things is always good.
