Default AMD + Artic Silver = AMD warranty void.

i dont know if this is old new os what but apparently using artic silver with and AMD processor voids your warranty.

This is an outrage. But I guess their reasoning could be that you are "modifying" the heatsink. LOL

I guess it does void, but when is the last time you saw someone, use a processor's warranty?

Maybe this is because the processors are made with such precision and small margin of error, and that their labs are dust free and automated.

Forgot to comment on the warranty aspect - it makes sense. They expect the stock stuff to do fine, and if you screw it up - well, that's your doing. But like that page says, "subject to", which would be insane depending on the actual cause (if they actually mess with it vs sending a new one).
