Sorry to say I had to back out, for now anyways. Here's the long story:
The LCD belongs to my parents, and I came home one day to see my nice LCD sitting on their desk. My mom explained that theirs didnt work. Being the person I am, I took it apart, completely forgetting the backlight could simply be dead. So I put it all back together and sure enough, you can barely make out a picture.
Tonight, they went to my favourite computer store to pick up a new one, where a sales person told them that Samsung LCDs have a 3yr. warrenty. So they come home and tell me that theyre going to try and have it replaced. EVEN THOUGH my mom said they didnt want it anymore and I could give it away if someone wanted it, which is why I posted it here.

EDIT Out of warrenty by a week. Deal's back on.
