Just put Debian Etch on my dad's laptop (using the new GTK based Debian installer - highly recommended), but now, the trackpad works very slowly, i.e. it takes a lot of drags to get from one place on the screen to another. It was not this way in Sarge. I have installed the Synaptics Touchpad driver, reconfigured XOrg, and tried to configure the touchpad using programs such as qsynaptics, but none of them see the driver as installed.
Any ideas?
