Go into the options and kill all the start ups,,, however,, this will include services, update services, MBR scans,, etc
however,, I do not suggest even having to Antivirus apps installed,, this will cause havoc with your pc,,
AVG is trusted and true,, highly effective, and FREEEEE!!
Mcafee,, slows down pc at boot,, can work or not work depending on engine, and Updater(ftp),, and does NOT catch all the virii out there,,
dump the mcafee,,,
