Ubuntu sucks..

I got the CD....i formatted my Windows 98 because it was really messed up. So i want to pop this in....but nothing happens....it detects CD-ROM and the CD but their are no boot files... HOW ELSE DO I INSTALL THIS DUMB PIECE OF FECES.

man.....any chance i can magically download windows operating system ?
