in the sound setup routine set the memory address and dma number to the right setting, its probably conflicting with something........when you test you will hear sound if its set right
open a terminal as root and type:lsmod---->make sure the kernel has detected the card and has loaded a driver module, it may also give you the dma and memory address you need
