lol thanks everyone for the help but i think every single one of u gave me a diff way of doing things. is there any way better than the other? i checked and im not muted. my sound card is 7.1 and it detected 5.1 but in the list it didn't give me an option for 7.1
i also went to creative and there were drivers for everything, solaris and FreeBSD too, except linux. they need to make more things compatible with linux
