Well my uncle saw this video on the internet of something strange, so of course he wanted to try it.
What they did - Put a package of mentos in diet soda, and it erupted over 10ft high.
Needed -
Package of Mentos (13 mentos I believe)
2 Leters of Diet Soda
Piece of Paper x2
Tape
Instructions -
Roll the mentos package in paper in a 'hot dog' like roll. Then at the end of the paper, tape it off. Then slip out the mentos package out of this newly created 'tube', open the mentos package, and put them in the tube (with the other piece of paper or cardboard on the bottom).
Next, bring it outside with a 2 Leter bottle of Diet Soda (It should be a cola, but can be any diet kind - even those cheap sam's club ones)
Now is where it gets interesting. Be sure the area around you is safe, and make sure nothing is 5ft within the bottle's radius. Then open the soda bottle slowly, so not too much fizz starts to form. Once you remove the lid, put the tube of mentos over it, with the piece of paper or cardboard not allowing it to enter the soda just yet. Once you're ready, slide out the paper or cardboard, and watch it erupt. When we did it, it got about 10 feet high, it's sort of strange. Just think what it would do to your stomach.. Be sure to ask your parent's permission first lol, I take no fault for this
