if it doesnt work post back, w/o more info about your gateway or router this could be tough.....an owners manual or user guide would help
most routers these days also allow you to change the ruleset and setup from your browser once its hooked up and working, what port it uses to do this I have no clue, they are all different, a quick port scan if you can get it to at least let you browse the web would show which one it is for sure
also, the 192.168.0.1 IP address while usually pretty common, it isnt always correct, some routers use a different one by default
