Now someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it has to do with your BIOS support and how many banks you have on your motherboard. The most I've seen on any one stick is 1 GB, but we can't rule out the possibility of it being proprietery.

Understandable. But still, we're talking about 64GB, which is a major step up. Given that something proprietary would have 2/4/... GB per stick, still would need a **** of a lot of banks for it to add up to be 64GB. There's got to be more to it than that. Or please excuse my blabing if this was infact correct.
