it would be nice to know which operating system you are using. if winXP click
start button> help & support and in the search box type "Internet Connection Firewall"
read the topic "To enable or disable Internet Connection Firewall". you should disable the firewall using their instructions. if it still doesn't allow sharing you have a less obvious problem.
