if you want to run webserver, better learn to use command line, as a webserver needs alot of batch scripting (if not, your ganna have alot of headache doing repetitive work)..

i suggest forget running webserver for a moment, and learn the ins and outs of a linux distro, until your comfortable enough to run it without a desktop such as kde/gnome, or with only a very minimal window manager such as fluxbox..

then you can think about running webserver correctly i suggest debian/gentoo..
