click start|run, type in cmd and press enter. type in ipconfig /all and press enter. this will show you information about your network connections. If your ip address starts with 169 or has all zeros, let us know. try running ping 192.168.1.1 (im guessing thats the ip address of your router, it could fail because its not the right address) that will show that your connected to the router. run ping
www.yahoo.com this confirm your inet access, this will prolly fail. if your connected to the router and this fails, then you could have dns issues.
