Hey everyone (New to forums)
I am learning programming, something I have always wanted to do. Everyone keeps telling me im too old but screw um'

(by the way im 18). I started learning VB 6.0 figuring this would give me a solid background in programming and would allow me to advance to better structures such as C, and then C++.
Lately I have been having some doubts about whether VB was smart to learn first. I know it is useful to learn but it doesnt seem applicable. Most people say either I should have just jumped right into C , or VB.NET. What do you guys think ? I am not looking for a career in computer game programming (although it would be nice) I just wanted to learn how code in these few months I have before I start college and majored in computer sciences. I figure the more background I have in coding before I go to school the better. Plus its just **** fUN ~
I'm loving every minute of it.
