Okay, I dont really even know where to start but ill do my best. My girlfriend moved in with her parents and she wanted to get the internet on her computer but it wasnt working. apparently her dad has a network set up and wanted her to go through his "server" for some reason. So Her dad asked to have her computer for a day and he would fix it all up. We got the coimputer back, and he totally F'ed up the whole thing. He said she was low on space so he claimed he moved all her stuff to his server. When you logged on you have to sign in on a domain there were two doamins, one was for the server the other was for her computer. The only profile available for her actual computer, the moron forgot the user name to so we couldnt use that. And there were two profiles on the server domain, one being hers which has major restricted access, even on her own computer itself, and the other was an admin account that we didnt have the password to. I logged into her account and saw that 30 of 40 gigs of space was still taken so I knew all of her stuff was still on her computer. We tried many ways to figure out how to get the computer back to normal, unfortunately system restore hadnt made any restore points in the past, so that was out.
Finally, I figured out her dads password and was able to log into the admin account and find all of her stuff after a long search. I am trying to get her computer back to normal, so that it just starts up and goes straight to the desktop. I wanna remove all those profiles but dont wanna delete any of her files and screw anything up. I tried to go into the User account option in the control panel, but it doesnt look like the standard windows xp User Accounts options, where you can select fast user switching and options for how user log on, and the welcome screen....etc... instead it comes up with the run>control userpasswords2 dialog box, which im not "too" familiar with. Im sure that was very confusing but would really appreciate any help.
