I'm not a huge Slayer fan but went with some friends of mine who are hardcore fans. This was back around '92 or '93 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
Megadeth opened for Slayer. Megadeth themselves are a huge and I was surprised they opened for Slayer and not the other way around. Anyhow, about halfway through their first song the fans pretty much drowned out Megadeth by chanting SLAYER! SLAYER! SLAYER! The fans bood and ran Megadeth offstage until Slayer finally came on.
Seriously, until that moment I didn't realize how hardcore and crazy true Slayer fans really were. It was insane and I was a little bit out of my element. I would have rather seen Megadeth.
