Hmmm, I'll try it in a few minutes. The only problem I can think of is that I'd have to mount it with ntfsmount instead of mount.

I had to do some tweaking of the mounting parameters with the external drive to even get it to be writable

I don't want to have to do that to my laptop hard disk, and screw things up...
