We have all been treated like criminals for years. You just now picking up on it?

I wrote a research paper on this last year, how all customers are penalized as being pirates. All are treated as being guilty with no chance of being proved innocent. The problem is that all the "copy protection" and DRM do little or nothing to stop the acts of a very small minority of users.

Mak is right. This is no different than any other company doing the same thing. At least the program will only check in and not install some BS on your system like some others do. If we, the consumers, actually buy the game/movie/song/application, we do our part to support the publisher and drive down both the price and severity of all the copy protection BS.
