Right! Switches are going to become a little smarter for the same base price that you would normally pay nowadays. It's like when a switch was first introduced when a hub had a predominant role within a LAN. They were faster, more efficient, and more reliable, with less collisions. Now though, we are starting to see more intelligent switches communicating on the IP layer. This technology has been around for ages but to see it involved in a home LAN is exciting
