I am not sure about the 8800GS but i know it performs reasonably well and prices on it aren't bad.

Haha, what do you know. I ran a program called GPU-Z, and seen my card was running on 163.71 drivers.... 163.71? I just installed the latest betas (169.28) a few days ago... and somehow 163.71 appeared.

Well, apparently... Windows Update decided to take matters in its own hands and install the 163.71 drivers. For all I'm concerned, Microsoft has NO business installing ANY video card drivers on my PC unless there are NONE PRESENT.

Now this removes the blue dot (yay no more blue dots!), and boosts performance with games (HL2 EP2) on the new monitor.

But it doesn't fix the fact I get screen tearing. I think I'll go with the new video card, and just RMA this card and sell it on ebay as new and get the 8800GT. Just one question-- will 8800gt run crysis on high?
