AMD:
single core: 1 core (sempron vs celeron, athlon xp vs p4)
dual core: 2 single cores (amd x2 vs c2d)
tri core: 4 single cores with one turned off due to malfunction (no intel couter)
quad core: 4 single cores. (phenom vs c2q)
