But yeah, there are some nice programs for Linux. I love OpenOffice as well as VLC Media Player. The only thing I haven't found for Linux that is good is a video editor. I tried cinelerra but hated it's multiple window crowded messed up interface. A video editor should simply have a clips/effects browser, a playback window, a timeline, and a menu bar, not some weird stuff like cinelerra has. Also, they should all be in one window. All those windows just crowd up the screen.

Other than that, there are Linux equivalents to pretty much everything, well, except maybe Macromedia Fireworks (well, you could use Gimp) or Flash (no Linux comparison).
