Im a noob when it comes to servers but i just want to run a server on my old pc. I just want to host a php forum on it so i can have other people or companies put ads on my site, like google adsense. I believe if i run a php forum on my own server, i can edit more and put ads on it myself, unlike the free php forums that automaticly put the ads on your forum. So if i want to buy a domain, its just the
www.----.com name right? Do i just pay once and I get to keep that domain, or do i have to pay monthly?
