I was talking to a guy at work and he told me that my idea for business was horrible I want to start a business repair laptops and selling them.I wanted to buy one of the many repair guides off the internet that had repair guide for hundreds of company laptop repair .My friend says that I don't need repair guides and that every laptop is basically the same .

Its a good idea, but its not just as easy as that.

First you will need to give a few more details.

1. Are you going to be doing this in a shop, or from home?
2. Is this going to be a hobby, or will it be your main sorce of income?
3. Are you going to be doing this alone, or with an employee?

I want to start a part time business but I want to test repair and making money off 7 laptops as a test.

I don't think you will make significant money just testing them....you may actually need to REPAIR them..

Basically, if it is going to be a main sort of income, then you will need to register and pay Tax on what you earn....

If you do it as a hobby on Ebay then your free to do as you like.

Your obviously going to have to buy tools, repair guides, ect... and you must have common knowledge....

well,I know that I want to test laptop because I want to average the amount cost per laptop.I want to actually learn the trade first.I first want to learn and do ,then after consider if its going to profitable.

I'm sorry .I'm not trying to start a business so hastily .I want to repair at least 3-4 laptops to see if it actually going to be profitable.After I will consider if I would like to make it a part-time or full-time venture.Im going to buy my tools ,which will only cost me about 60-80bucks and a guide dvd(it has all laptops guides in it).If it is profitable I intend on getting a business license and start booking keeping .

After I learn the basics I add eye candy mods to the laptop to add value such as:painted or airbrushed pictures and etc

Just out of curiousity, what sort of computer / electrical background do you have which will help you to accomplish your goal? Are you going to sell OEM's through the business like Gateway, HP, etc. etc. What about warrenty on repair work?
