Posted by: raross honestly, you would probally need a business degree more then anything :). Opening a computer repair store is hard now a days with all the competition from huge providers such as circuit city, best buy etc. Posted by: Law Well you most certainly need some knownledge on how to run your own business, A+ Tech certification, Network +, these are the basic to start a repair job. Maybe some Microsoft cert for 2000 or XP machies. If you want to go further, start your own consultant firm or something, you might be require to study the harder subject, like security, cisco, microsoft servers, linux,... If you open up your computer repair shop, do it far from the competition. Some place where there arent any computer repair shop around but just you. People will most likely come to you. Posted by: Sylus There are no computer places in my town, only place to buy your pc from here is wal-mart. I don't want to work on software as much as i do hardware. i basically wanna have a store where i sell computer parts and build computers for what people need such as a gaming rig or a business pc. I also planned on maybe hosting lan parties and such. Posted by: Law Well if you're just selling parts and building then basic knowledge about computer parts is all you need. Probably the A+ books will help you and of course the internet is a great source of information. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
